[Apologies to Roisin!]
Yes, as you may have seen over at Core Couture, that Donna Karan gets about a bit! Ruth enjoyed her company the other day and gained a beautiful DK gingham shirt. Ruth very kindly then gave Donna my address, and she’s spent a couple of days here, obligingly producing a mock suede jacket for me COINCIDENTALLY from the self-same V1440 I used for the cloqué one!
I used a selvedge strip and faffed about to make the mock fringed edging…a bit of a pain to get round the collar points, so of course I just sort of smooshed it until it works…who’s going to check? It took a lot of basting though. The jacket is very thin and drapey, slightly stretchy [which I hadn’t expected] and will basically work as a cardigan. Useful over the glorious summer months no doubt.
I quite like the contrasting effect of the wrong side showing, telling myself it looks lined- what do you think?
Quite nice with the ‘Flat Bottom Flo’ trousers from Style Arc though, I’m channelling my inner cowgirl here.
Now I really must get my marking done- OFSTED time!
