First up- the let’s-see-if-this-works asymmetrical top. I bought this [now OOP] pattern for the wife a few years ago, thinking it might be a cool top to wear when she’s performing, leaving either guitar hand free as desired [you just turn the thing front to back, both pieces are identical]. I made it up, she liked it, and I don’t think she’s worn it since…
Being a style I would normally pass over, I thought I’d see if it’s worth using, or should be binned.First thoughts? Bin it. But it looks so nice on the model, I thought…maybe I should strike a pose [but not bother trying to smile with my eyes]
Ahem. A bit french tart, but more of the tatin than the ooh-la-la variety?
OK, let’s try accessories:
Er…well, I don’t really ever wear bracelets…
Perhaps I can fix the neckline with a brooch? Good idea, except I only have teensy joke badges [this one says ‘what if there were no hypothetical questions?’] or large, wear-it-on-your-coat statement things. OK, just one actually. But this actually has potential I think, the neckline felt tamed, and the drapes behaved better.
The sleeves are totally different lengths, unless I do the off the shoulder thing, then the short one matches:
Fix or bin? Something tells me there’s a way to wear this, but I haven’t QUITE hit it yet. Actually on reflection, the off the shoulder isn’t too bad, maybe with jeans in warmer weather?
Speaking of which, it’s frrrrrreezing here, but the garden is galloping on into summer:
Oh yes, and I made the shoulder pads and fixed the DK jacket. I dunno, all those bagels and she didn’t finish the job properly…
Fire away, all opinions valued!
