V2813, stretch cotton sateen panel print from The Textile Centre.
A couple more buttonholes, loads of teensy buttons to sew on [I used ones left from my daughter’s wedding dress for now, they may end up different colours courtesy of nail varnish]. A few ‘French tacks’ [whatever they may be, I just did my own thing] and the shirt is done.
I really love my parrot fashion. I can see from the photos [before you tell me] that a teensy little FBA might have been a good idea, but hey ho, these Voguee patterns are very unpredictable for size/ease, and most Vogue come up big in my experience. Warning, this one doesn’t! It’s a straight size 16. If the fabric didn’t have a bit of stretch, I don’t think I’d get away with it.
I could probably have taken an inch off the length, but I’d rather it’s slightly long, than too short.
I LOVE MY PARROT! Have I mentioned that? He gives a reason for my back fat- something for him to roost/perch on.
I could probably make him do amusing things if I did some sort of body-builder pose, but..er..no.
