Severn of nine

Mojo be damned- this afternoon, sickened by constant rain and the prospect of me going back to work [maybe] without enjoying any days at all, we hopped in the car and headed off to Stouprport-on-Severn.  This is a sweet little town not too far from us.  I’ve actually never been there before, but the missus is pretty familiar with it.  We admired the barges and boats harboured in the canal basin

and then headed off to the Treasue Island funfair.  This is a real relic, just like funfairs used to be- none of this terrifying death-defying high risk nonsense.  Helter skelter, dodgems…and a penny arcade!

Like the daft old bats we are, we cashed in a fiver to get BUCKETS of tuppences [oo-er missus] and headed for one armed bandits and penny waterfalls.  Filthy hands, and a grannyish happy time ensued despite the rain.  We sauntered around and took some pics.  Ahem.  See a theme here?  Sorry!

Ah well, some people never grow up do they?  [She made me do it hofficer]

I’m not sure what Jessica rabbit and a tyrannosaurus have to do with Treasure Island, but it beat staying in for yet another rainy day.
