I visited the doc-daughter this weekend, and [eventually] got her to find time to try on the dress. She loves it, and was very happy [phew] BUT of course, at least one of her measurements had to be wrong didn’t it?
Fortunately, it’s an easy fix- she’d taked her front bodice length measurement, as instructed, from mud shoulder to bust point, then continuing to the waist. As a result, I added in an inch ABOVE the bust point in the pattern [and that was fine.]
It seems that she isn’t quite sure where her waistline is however, as the whole thing is an inch too long. Of course, now I can just remove the skirt, and lift it up the bodice 1″, then refinish. No biggy, it could have been much, much worse.
So no pics yet, but her actual birthday is August 25th, and she’s coming down to Brum then, so watch this space.
I’m shattered, and will be self-administering some medicinal cutting out very soon…steaming on!
