Sounds like a great day. I have never tried Sri Lankan food. Is it hot? I love spicy food and am always on the look out for new cuisines to try. Xx

Well the lady selling the spice mixes had three versions, we opted for not very hot at all, as I like to control the heat of my food via judicious use of fresh or dreid chili depending on my mood! It is intensely aromatic, and I can’t wait to try it. All the spices are toasted before grinding and you can really tell! It’s all home produced too. We had a lovely chat, as she showed us some of the exotic fruit and veg from her display, stuff I’d never seen before, and we have really good markets in Brum. I’ll be looking even closer at the big veg displays now…
