  1. Mmm lovely lace. Bad luck on the buttonholes and black splodge. As sewing accidents go it’s level pegging with transfer of burnt on polyester from the iron. Both always pick a nice light coloured or white delicate fabric. And you always remember afterwards that you should have cleaned the equipment. Funny that isn’t it?

  2. One time a leaky bottle of motor oil got all over a top on the very first time I wore it. The guy at the auto parts store where I was buying the oil suggested Dawn dish soap to remove the oil, and it worked like a charm! I don’t know what brands you have where you are, but maybe try the dish soap (Dawn is the kind for when you wash dishes by hand, not the dishwasher.)

  3. Glad you got the stain sorted, green household soap is my standby – sadly not made as Fairy soap anymore, apparently nobody uses it nowadays (except me obviously).
