I’ve not finished the hand stitching to finish the breeches, but here’s a belt loop
I then sewed up all the seams in the lilac evening bodice ready for a fitting
Assuming the fitting goes well [and remember, I have to get all togged up to try it out] I’ll be hand stitching all those seam allowances to the underlining to keep things tidy.
Then I got distracted, as I need easy sewing jobs to do after work. I sewed up the Edwardian combinations last night, and attached the lace trim to the bottom.
This afternoon, before heading back to college for the evening class, I have attached trim to the neckline, threaded ribbon through, tidied up the armholes, and sewn on 2 buttons to the gusset fastening.
I trusted the sewing machine to make 2 buttonholes. Turns out this was not a good idea. The buttonholes are as tatty as usual, but the problem? A bit of oily fluff fell out of the machine ON THE VERY LAST STITCH and left three oily blobs on my new undies.
Bugger and blast!
They are now soaking in some stain remover gunk.
On the bright side, some very pretty and delicate eyelash lace arrived from China, and I may go crazy and trim my black Edwardian blouse in ivory lace. I also got out some of the leftover bridal lace from DD’s wedding dress…What do you think?
