The trousers have not been dropped [fner fner] but c’mon, trousers are pretty easy and boring to make…so I let myself be distracted by wifey’s other obsession: shirts.
I’ve already made her several
I went download mad yesterday, and some more PDFs. Sigh. Payday weekend, internet connection, someone stop me!
I found a designer that I’d never heard of before: Angela Kane [mentioned in someone’s blog comment, I really can’t remember whose…bad Fairy]. For a scant £6, I downloaded her ‘Man’s Cut shirt’. Looks good huh?
THEN I went McCall’s-wards. Sale innit? Mind you, having found a couple of patterns, how come something £1.99 ends up more like £6 if you have to print it yourself? Meh. Still fine. I got these 2:
6076, Wing collar shirt [because I like it]
and 6436, because it looks very 1970s to me.
Now to match up the fabrics. I got some GORGEOUS quality black linen, ex-Hugo Boss I believe, form my fave eBay fabric supplier. I also succumbed to a scant metre of a black faux snakeskin to use for accents. Trust me.
I already have several lengths of loveliness in the wife-stash, including some nice everyday stretch poplins [light grey, dark grey and navy], gorgeous amethyst moleskin…too many to choose from!
Anyway, thanks to Ruth, I now know how to make image collages on Powerpoint, so I just made these to show off the OTHER stuff I’ve been buying…
I really should go and start cutting…
