After a looooong week and marking, and finally completing the first unit [400 papers take longer than you’d think, I can tell you], I managed to snag an hour or two sewing this afternoon before starting on the next unit.
Not enough, but it will have to do. I’ve still got just over three more weeks of marking before I can relax, and my poor arthritic hands are feeling the pain of all this mouse clicking. I’m actually going to have to see the GP about that, as I had to force my wedding ring off this week, and my finger still looks pretty rough. Joy.
Anyhew, some small progress on the Armistice blouse, and an excuse to use the lovely Singer to do some pintucks.

You must have nerves of steel doing all those pin tucks in that gorgeous fabric. I love the lace insertion too. I think that this blouse is such a lovely pattern. I am a bit behind with my corset sewing. We have had foreign visitors and I had a work presentation that took up all last week’s spare time. Hopefully back on it this afternoon. Xx

The Singer pintuck attachment makes it a positive pleasure-a friend watched me yesterday and she was entranced! You don’t have to do anything once it’s set other than feed the fabric against the guide. I’m rubbish at neat even sewing, I do horrible top stitching, but this is lovely. I’m rooting about trying to decide what else to pintuck!

I think I have this gadget. I really must make time to play with my old Singer machines. Your blouse is going to be gorgeous.

Those pintucks are lovely.
However you should be hiding your Brussels sprouts, Swiss rolls, and French seams (and beans) you black marketeer!

Not to mention my frankfurters, Belgian buns and austrian blinds…and all my EUphemisms will have to become phemisms. Oh dear.

GrubbyLacemaker here, Long time no chat! I too adore those pintucks…. Think I’ll have to start using my pintuck foot as well. Hey, I finally finished that purple satin kimono bedjacket (with the shiny side of the fabric on the inside as it’s so nice against bare skin). As it frayed like mad and I’ve not yet got to grips with my overlocker, I employed Hongkong seams on the sides and arms using purple satin bias binding. Slightly bulky but it feels great to wear. Am dead impressed with myself!
