Time is very tight right now, and I’m ACHING to get some sewing done. As payday arrived, I consoled myself during the long, tedious, unproductive hours at work, and did a little [ahem] internet shopping.
And the parcels have been turning up nice and steadily…
These are all for my lovely missus-green stretch twill, and a soft olive ‘monk’s weave’ cotton/cupro blend, plus antique buttons, dark green and gilt. The second image is a cruel little teaser for you: bronze leather, green/black and green/bronze feathers. A little project for later in the year, and you’ll have to wait and see, although guesses are welcome. If you’ve been paying attention to previous posts, you may get an inkling.
I also indulged in a little splurge at Vena Cava, and got a whole ROLL of spiral steel boning and an Edwardian corset pattern, Truly Victorian E01..
Then, on another long and tedious day, I went a bit PDF-happy. Well it wasn’t my fault, StyleArc sent me an email offering 30% off if I would be good enough to make a purchase. I ended up with..er..quite a few. In my defence, these will make a great autumn wardrobe.
So there’s the Issy top, Paige top/dress, Marie jacket, Daisy tunic and trousers, and Romy ‘anorak’ although to me, that’s a lightweight parka but there you go. And yes, although not a fan of bags [maybe I lack oestrogen?] I fell for the Grainline studio’s cute little project bag, which would make good Xmas pressies [if I ever get to the stage of planning that far ahead.] I think I saw it on Thornberry’s blog, but I read so many these days, I may be mistaken. Ah yes, here it is!
Nice huh? I actually quite like the jigsaw-ness of assembling PDF’s, and at least the pattern pieces are nice and sturdy, if hard to fold away!
A level exam marking is going well, I’ve got 27% of one unit done, and 10% of the other, [final deadlines July 19th] Ten more days of crazy high speed ticking [and teacher kisses] and I can STOP. Work is a nightmare, I just want to hide under a rock, but life goes on. Now I need to make a final post about the GBSB, so hop over next and take a peek?
