Slow but steady: The lapels and the mock buttonholes are all machine stitched, and the lapel linings applied by hand.
I’ve stared long and hard at the overlay trim layout, and decided that it was just too…pink.
‘Maybe I needed more of the flocked chiffon?’ I wondered, but a rummage in the scrap bags failed to locate it. Bum. However, I did find the leftover bits of silk organza from the 6Nap skirt. Hey presto, we’re off.
I really like how that organza matches the silver-grey ribbon. Serendipity!
Now it’s time for some careful basting before stitching that lot in place- no way I’m trusting all those lines to pins alone!
I love how the chiffon adds real depth to the pink. Can’t wait to see the next steps.

I’m beginning to think I should be keeping my scrap rather than giving it away. You are so creative with yours!

‘giving it away’? Hmmm I’ve heard of this concept, but find it difficult to process…
