So, while corseted, I decided to complete the saga with some pics.
Because of hair, corset, and very very slim fitting dress, the missus had to help post me into this one, and get it wiggled down over my lumps. At which point I realised that I still haven’t inserted the collar wires or made button loops on the back of the neck. Pins to the rescue!
The corset should have been laced a tad tighter, as already mentioned, and I still haven’t made a slip to wear over the corset, to prevent it showing through. Ah well. More work to come!
Wifey did a sterling job hooking me into all those button loops over the zip [I gave her a crochet hook, it worked well when I had to perform the same service for my daughter’s wedding dress!]
I feel very posh in this, and ready for the races. I think I need a lorgnette…
There you go. Definitely needs a slip, but rather nice don’t you think? I’m very happy with the addition of the pink roses to the hat to match it in as well. [And an excuse to wear those gloves…]
Even with the added pleat, it’s still very narrow indeed. Bearing in mind this is a straight size 18 from the packet, most women would never get their hips into it, let alone be able to walk. A lovely style, beware the slim fit!
