Truly Victorian Eton Jacket [TV#498] and ten-gore skirt [TV #E23]
African wax cotton, embossed. Collar in red poly dupion, lined in red satin table runner [!] and black silk cotton. Sleeves interfaced and underlined in taffeta for oomph. Skirt hem faced in Mickey Mouse flannel with added horsehair braid.
I ran up a quick extra petticoat/corset cover to wear under this, using the back of a duvet cover, and some scrap lace. Very rough and ready, and I will add more trim later. It worked for today though!
We went out to Stourbridge for a vintage fair at the Ruskin Glassworks, which turns out to be a really nice centre for all sorts of craftsmen and women. We had a nice mooch round, and bought a few goodies, including hand made soaps, birthday cards, and some cool buttons complete with their little tin.
Dawn found some very fancy braces for a fiver, and then we nabbed a full length wool tartan skirt [which looks barely worn], for just eight quid. This may save me from needing to make a kilt for Dawn’s SWAP wardrobe, as I can just cut it down and make a new waistband…
We pootled about for a bit, before hopping back into the car and driving over to see my folks, who were tickled pink to have us rock up in all our finery. You’ve seen Dawn in her coat, so here’s me all togged up in my new ‘walking outfit’
Get a load of that butt! All padding I assure you…I love this skirt, and think I see more on the way!
oooh! So gorgeous! I’d wear that skirt to work with a black shirt in a heartbeat. The full ensemble would be a little much for my office though… 🙂

Lol- I dunno, it’s not very outrageous! THe skirt would be awful on me without a corset, as I have no natural waist…It’s very beautifully drafted though, for someone who is more naturally shapely
