Daisy Wears Me Troosers?

  1. “someone mentioned it” …. yep that was me. I made these last year, and had the same problem with the pockets. I also found that the rise was lacking, and that I had to take 10cm off the leg length, cause I have ducks disease (arse is too close to the ground). However, they did turn out ok in the end.

    1. lol my memory is POO! They’re way too big in the hips for me- the rise isn’t too bad, but they would need a drawstring, the sewn on elastic doesn’t cut the mustard on my narrow hips. The fabric’s too nice to scrap though so I’ll have to gather my strength and sort them out. Sigh. Something simple tomorrow I think

    1. Oh no I LOVE Style Arc, these are just not suiting my shape. I bought the pattern for the tunic, which is great, and never originally intended to make the trousers. I had a brain fart and decided to go for it. Hope I can salvage them- the fabric is LOVELY.

  2. Woah, you have gone full on Scots tonight with Andy Stewart *and* oor Rabbie. I liked the video but it made me a bit homesick for Glasgow and I am not even from there. I hope that you get your trousers sorted. The fabric looks lovely. It is a bit of a bugger when things go like that. I have spent the weekend unpicking something that I had finished as I didn’t like it on. You are so far ahead with your SWAP. I have started customising my RTW swap item but no fabric until pay day. Do you think that they would let me get away with Leopard as a neutral? 🙂 Xx

    1. ‘You are the designer’ so anything goes. People have been choosing purple pink or turquoise as their neutrals so I see no problem! All I’ve actually done is cut it all out, and made two simple tops. I think I need to cheer myself up by sewing a bit of that ruffle skirt…pure indulgence!

  3. Are all Style Arc trousersnotpants big? I was very surprised to only need a 10 in the Barb pattern I made up – I was looking for the size 14 to begin with. I would probably have been able to camp in them.
I hope these get sorted as the fabric looks too good to waste 😉 (frugal northern lass coming out).

    1. It’s really good fabric. I’m going to have to take off the pockets, then see how much I can shave off straight down the side seams. I don’t care about losing the fullness, the wide leg was a debatable point in the first place!
