Action and Distraction

    1. I’ll just grade it up- I am trying not be tempted into buying more. I actually need to do a survey of how much fabric I have in actual lengths, and how many unused patterns. I’m FAIRLY good at making them up fast as I’m so impatient, but some slip past me!

  1. Easily. I have a to do list with lots of major things on it eg edit book and minor things eg take aspirin. Over the weekend I get great pleasure ticking things off. But today I have one skirt, one crocheted and three knitted items all out and in the go. I like the long floaty top pattern and think it’s a nice one for you. Personally I have never really been able to wear dress over trouser looks but that one is tempting. Always sorry to hear about the work woes. Half terms help I guess.

    1. Half term refreshes a little, so we can tighten up ready for the fray. We do have serious mismanagement issues, and need to put in ANOTHER formal complaint before Ofsted arrive…which is why management are resisting, they don’t want it to be recorded!

  2. Oh dear. I’m sorry to hear that work life is a shitshow (my words, not yours, of course! 😉 Good on you for doing what you need to to stay happy and healthy!

  3. Oooo! Ooooo! There was that style of Regency cravat called The Mathematical, and it might be so witty to make one out of that fabric!

Other than that, no brains at all here.

  4. You sound like you need half-term break. Inspections are always stressful. Incompetent managers – I love ’em. Because they haven’t a clue, you can run rings around them. It might be time to take the Christmas tree down and replace it with some spring-like garlands – move on….
and be super creative in your time off.

    1. Xmas tree comes down when the flowers in the garden start to show. This particular incompetent ‘manager’ is SO bad that even other managers are rebelling. He has to be ousted, fast. He’s not just an idiot, he’s destructive.

  5. I vote for the Lani top. That fabric is so good it needs to be sewn up!

The Vogue pattern is all kinds of awesome.

Sorry to hear about the work woes. I hope your half term refreshes you.

  6. Sorry to hear that you work is not in a happy place. It is a bit rubbish when a job is like that as we spend most of our lives working. Bah! I absolutely love that Vogue pattern with the amazing sleeves. It is gorgeous and will look brilliant in your lovely sari fabric. I applaud you patience and skill at grading up. I love the maths fabric and think that it would make a great top. Could you use it for accents on a top and a skirt? A Vampire Party sounds like fin. They are great photos of you and the missus. Xx

  7. don’t know that this is considered a “distraction” but I anguish over
every sewing decision until my usual decision is “put it away and move on”
to anguish over the NEXT decision. Very unproductive. Probably
why I make about 5-6 items a year. Oddly enough, what I DO make
is usually very satisfying but the cost is lots of stress. Am I alone?
    Sounds like it.
