STYLE IT!

  1. I’ve just made the Parker coat which is fab. All the pieces on the pdf lined up correctly (unlike some pdfs – you know who you are errant pdfs!) and the coat fits really well first go – no arms like a gorilla which I seem to get with the Big 4. Will definitely try more of them.

  2. Lovely collection – time well spent at work in my books!. I’ve yet to try out a style arc pattern, but I’ve heard such good things about them and seem many fantastic makes on line. What’s your favourite?

    1. I have three versions of the Twiggy dress, three [or is it four] Lani tunics, about 5 pairs of ‘Linda’ trousers [I started with those] 3 or 4 each of Tootsie and Amy…lots of the rest have been made twice, and several are up for remake very soon. Lol it’s hard to pick! They suit my shape, and are interesting without being fussy. Love ’em

      1. I’ve been finding Pinterest good for cataloguing my pattern collection lately. Surprised me because I’ve tried a few other things (Evernote, spreadsheets) and I just didn’t keep up with them.

      2. Heh I know the feeling. There’s a ‘sections’ feature on Pinterest now but I’ve not found it very helpful so far. I tend to have lots of little boards. But the pattern stash one is huge and doesn’t even include my Burda tracings l.

  3. Geez, I hope you are getting a spotters fee from them!
I like them too and have made 3 pairs of Wendy trousers, 3 pairs of Sage trousers, one pair of Blakely jeans and 2 Gorgeous Gore skirts, all have fitted without issues (except leg length as I am a shortarse!).

    1. Join my shortarse club! I have broad shoulders and occasionally their jackets seem too narrow- a small price to pay as long as I’m on the ball when choosing sizes. I just love their ethos and the fact that so many patterns let you piece and block which makes them great for scrap busting

  4. What a great range of pattern. I love Styl Arc. Their designs are so stylish but I am yet to sew one. I don’t like pdfs and am too impatient for a paper pattern. Really must visit their Amazon store. Is their sizing quite true to the measurements? Xx

    1. Yes absolutely. They draft a leeetle narrow on shoulders for my taste, but that only matters if using a woven or if the sleeves are fitted. The first few I bought were direct from Oz, and they print on heavy paper which is great. They also come with a teeny fabric sample which cn be useful. They have a copy shop print option too, so you can get them printed on a roll if you really hate taping. I don’t mind it and save several up to do at once when in the mood. I particularly like the patterns that combine jersey and woven [as you might tell] as it’s so good for scrap busting!
