Stops and starts: Cashmere coat #4

Oh boy this simple coat is taking longer than I’d hoped.  Admittedly this is because I’m no longer shutting myself away in my sewing space every single day.  This is both good and bad of course- I’m not doing it because I’m less stressed and don’t need the therapy, but I do wish I was getting through the project more quickly.

SO last night I thought I should do at least a little work on the coat, to prevent those 2am thoughts about lack of progress…

I settled down, and did  a little catch stitching of seam allowances, then my audiobook finished.  I’ve already downloaded three new Audible books though, so took the iPod to the PC to synch them.  AARGH.  Fuss and palaver.  My PC is getting on a bit, and I think is nearing its end, as it keeps futzing about, freezing or otherwise playing up.  It would not recognise the iPod connection.  I tried again and again, wiggling and jiggling the USB thingy, swapping ports etc as sometimes that works.  Nope.

I sidetracked, remembering that my daughter’s been trying to get me on Skype for three or four days.  That wouldn’t open either.  Jeez.  So I was about to do an uninstall/reinstall [while still trying to get the ruddy audiobooks to download,] and the whole thing froze up.  No option but to turn it off.

Gah!

Back to the sewing room, seething, to de-stress with a little more handsewing.  I did  a tiny bit of hand stitching, then pressed some more seams and sewed two more…then realised that one pocket looked perfect the other was a mess.  SO I swore and re-did that.

Then I gave up and went to bed!

The audiobooks downloaded on the fifth try this morning, and Sype got un-installed.  Let’s see if I can be more productive tonight…exit muttering darkly.
