Style Arc ‘Linda’ trousers [yup, still not pants, unh-unh] in navy ponte. Item #2 for the 2019 SWAP
NAVY! ME! I haven’t voluntarily worn navy blue since school, and that was over 40 years ago. I suppose that’s long enough to get over uniform shock…
These were the first Style Arc pattern I tried, the first item I ever made on my overlocker, and I have several pairs of them, but all only suitable for wearing with flat shoes. These are for ‘posh’ made to work with heels. Like the last pair I made, they also have pocketses, which extend inside over the tum to give a teensy bit of belly control. Yeah yeah, it makes no difference to you, but it does in my head!
They have a comfortable elastic waist, enclosed in a moderately wide waistband. Very flat, tidy, and comfy. No other changes other than shaving a tad off the high hip.
I may need a couple more pairs, what do you think?

Wow they look so good. What a difference to the purple pair. Amazing the difference crotch depth and shape makes to the end product.
My fitting skills are still a bit hit and miss but I think you can remove those drag lines from hip to inseam by taking a dart at the inseam tapering to nothing at the outseam both front and back leg. Whilst this is a change required pre make you can try it on these trousers to see if it makes any difference.

I think any other fitting lines are more because of my wonky stance and dodgy hips, so I’m not too fussed tbh. As said before, we move all the time so there will always be wrinkles of some sort, and I’m no perfectionist!

They have front pocketses! I’m going to shamelessly Nick that idea. Can’t think why I didn’t think of that …..

Oh I like those! The fabric hangs nicely! And they are NAVY! I love any shade of red or blue – automatic winners! I am thinking about making a quick elastic waist trouser (not pants) but all I can picture is the ones my poor dear Mother bought from the discount store and then repaired and repaired. These are definitely more elegant and I might be sold on a pair!

It’s a great, simple pattern, and if you add pockets or piping on the side seams, very elegant. Who wears anything tucked in these days? Certainly not me! Elastic all the way…
