Probably another SWAP item: New Look 6735, striped lycra fabric from Frumble Fabrics
I’ve made many of these t shirts- the fit is great thanks to a curved back seam, the neckline is a perfect scoop without exposing bras or boobs, and the neckband is a perfect fit every time. Seriously, buy it. The skirt is a bit crap and the trousers are OK for pyjamas, but the top is ace.
On this versions I cut the sleeves a bit longer, and made the neckband on the bias to get more oomph from the stripes. I didn’t give a damn about pattern matching, one shoulder matches, the other doesn’t, I have no fucks to give.
The fabric is GORGEOUS. Perfect weight, great to cut and sew, hems like a dream, stretches in all directions [two way if you’re a fellow Brit, 4-way if you’re one of them there foreign types]. It took about an hour including cutting out. Yay!
I loves it.
That’s a great fitting top. I haven’t sewn a t-shirt with a curved back seam, but it certainly does the job.

It’s so much more flattering than the usual pool of fabric at the back- I almost feel like I have a waist! Highly recommended

Ha, I know the waist thing. Seems that my dinner always pools around my waist! Does look flattering – I had a very flattering RTW t-shirt that had a seam at the back. Perhaps I should look this pattern out.

It’s a good ‘un- I haven’t bothered with the cardigan, and the skirt is only fit for flopping round the house in the summer. The trousers were OK, but are now relegated to pyjama status too. I may make another pair now I think about it, they just need a bit more depth in the front rise to accommodate my belly!

I love this pattern too. I have made the top a lot of times, I quite like the cardigan and have made it a few times. I made the skirt once and the trousers once and don’t have either anymore. I rebought the pattern when the original became a bit too sad

I keep meaning to trace off the pattern onto tougher paper [I rarely trace anything!] may just glue it to backing fabric…

I loves it too (completely irrelevant but putting it out there). Not just the pattern with great back shaping but the fabric colour and stripes. Looks so good on you and gives the outfit a real pop.

…so good I had to order more in an unusual-for-me colourway. Thanks!
