Steamin On #14: the big reveal

And a frabjous time was had by all.  We nearly didn’t go:  the arranged meeting time was 10am, which I knew would be unlikely given our habit of Saturday morning lie-ins…and I was right.  We woke up properly at about 930, so I went to make tea and toast and assumed that my little wifelet wouldn’t be budgung for some time.  ‘Come on then, are we going or not?’ quoth she, still under the duvet.

‘Great, let’s get dressed then’, quoth I.

‘Oh I’m just dropping you off, I can’t be bothered.’

Looks were exchanged.  She got up and got dressed

Hell yeah.  Very dapper.

I was togged up in half the time by the way, including hair, make-up and underpinnings.

Off we went [eventually, she’s not good with time] aiming at getting there for 12 in time for the parade.  Yes, well.  We got there eventually, and with the aid of some judicious texting/phoning, hooked up with four lovely people that I met via Facebook, members of the West Midland Steampunk Assembly.  Soulmates!  We perambulated, chazzed, picknicked, talked rot, posed for pictures with complete strangers, drank tea and had huge fun.  We also collected several mayors, but I only have pics of 2 for some reason.

One last post to show a  few shots of the underpinnings, and tell of the final stages in assembling the outfits.  Then I promise I’ll make some ordinary clothes!
