Here’s this weekend’s sewing plan:
- Attach a buckle to the red pattern-testing dress, which will complete it. Here are my options [just arrived], I veer towards the little rhombus, which is supposed to clip into the white frame…but I don’t like that]
- Then I want to fix by lovely Vogue#1405 dress. The hem went all droopy, starting before it went in the wash, and exacerbated by it. It was originally levelled off neatly like the lining/slip, honest- Look at this horror!
- Finish the clockwork skirt, nice and easy
- Unpick and resew the waistband on my Shrek trousers!
- IF all that gets done, I have several more goodies waiting to be started, including 2 corsets and a Ziggi jacket.
Watch this space!
I like first or second buckle. Love your “Shrek trousers” reference, sounds like how I describe my clothes!

The second buckle- I love that one best. Can’t wait to see your Ziggi- it’s a pattern I have admired from afar for a long time now but the amount of pdf pages to tape put me off.

I love the 2nd one’s shape best, but it’s not as black as the buttons, whereas the rhombus is. I think I’ll save #2 for something else, where it works even better. I thought about painting it, but it has those shaded lines on it which would be hidden.

Rhombus vote here.

Another vote for the second buckle here. That dippy hemline, you couldn’t do that if you wanted to, talk about Sod’s Law, maddening.

The hemline is outrageous! I’d noticed it was a tiny bit uneven when I took the first pics of me wearing it, but I;m no perfectionist, so chose to ignore it…and now this! It’s crazy, the fabric is very lightweight, and not bias cut, just very slightly A line panels. Most odd.

I like the second buckle too, just looks a bit different. As for the dress hem b—er.

Yep #2 is the nicest, but not as black as the others, so it looks a bit off next to the buttons unfortunately. It will be featured somewhere, not this one though I think

I vote for the first buckle (but without the white bit) 🙂 That is one crazy hem you’ve got going on there! Maybe just call it a design feature? Sort of like a handkerchief hem??

Lol it’s all over the place. Very unstable jersey it seems, as I washed it before I started. I’ll have to find the highest point and level the lot

Oh what a bugger about your hem. That is a complete mare. I love the rhombus too but agree about the white bit. That dress looks really interesting. I am looking forward to seeing the finished article. Xx

I didn’t have the mojo to fix it at the weekend, but have hung it in the sewing room so I can’t forget…let’s see how long I delay

Shame that jersey is so ill mannered. Mine is still awaiting inspiration but my sewing mojo has been trampled by the need to garden whilst the weather is good. I hope you achieved all you hoped.
